Baker's Maie With Built-In Wine Rack
A "Maie": a wooden vessel on feet used by a baker to store the flour used for making dough. This solid oak one is a little bit different: the top folds open to reveal gorgeous mediaeval-style hinges and a clever wine-rack. Once you know that the previous owner lived in the world famous wine region of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (South East part of France), this diversion of the original purpose of a Maie makes complete sense! The top can be left open to exhibit a wine collection and to arrange a lamp, some frames or any other decorative artefacts. It would make an amazing showpiece for a wine shop or cellar door sales office; or in the living room of a wine connoisseur!
