Louis-Philippe Mirror With Fronton (Large Size)
This gorgeous example is another variation on the classic Louis-Philippe shape: the two upper round corners join into a fronton with a floral theme. The same theme is presents around the frame, while the traditional beads around the glass are replaced by a rinceau of foliage elements.
The frame is painted in a typical golden hue with faded red elements, and it stands on two feet, which give the owner the flexibility to leave this mirror leaning against a wall or hanging (It is a very heavy piece!).
We have found this beautiful mirror in an old apartment in Nice, on the French Riviera, where it remained for decades, which explains the thick layer of dust covering it. It will benefit from a good clean upon arrival!
