Pair of "Crapaud" Armchairs In Rich Deep Blue Velvet and Off-White Fringe - SOLD
SOLD - The "Crapaud" armchair first appeared at the end of the 18th century under the Louis-Philippe and then Empire styles. It has gone through many variations over the years and is still produced in modern furniture.
These two examples are faithful to the original design: they are low and compact, with a padded gondole back and a passementerie (fringing) to hide the feet. The beautiful dark blue velvet fabric is in perfect condition, as is the off-white complementary fringing. They are perfect for that cozy corner in your living room, bedroom or office.
They were purchased in the city of Carpentras in the heart of Provence (South East part of France).
